Clamp Truck Operator - 3rd Shift

Exciting new opportunity! Hood Container in Jamestown is hiring for a Roll Stock Driver (Clamp Truck). Don't miss this opportunity to apply with one of the top 10 employers in the Corrugated industry.Responsibilities: Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the clamp ply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.Bring rolls of paper to the corrugator, always taking butt rolls first, and record all rolls taken to the corrugator using the Amtech RF scanning system.Read and understand the corrugator lineups - Knowledge of paper grades and specs is required.Mark butt rolls as to the size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to roll room. Scanning all rolls returned to roll room by location. All rolls returned must be scanned to a location where the roll is placed. All butt rolls will be staged with full roll stockUnload rolls from trailers andor rail cars. Check for and note any physical damage to the rollsScan and receive all rolls unloaded and ensure rolls are stacked into the roll room by size, and grades. Operate the clamp truck in a safe plete clamp truck inspection report at the beginning of each shift and turn in Safety ManagerKeep roll room organized and clean, cutting down any damaged rolls as neededTurn in roll stock tallies to the corrugator supervisor or Scheduling DepartmentMaximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet quality, delivery and service goals.Assist all corrugator operators as instructed by supervision.Additional duties may be assigned by managementComplete weekly PM on the clamp truck and assist the with end of week clean up, as directed by the supervisor.Ensure all empty propane tanks are filled and placed in rack in accordance with company policy.Know how to calculate proper amount of lineal footage needed to run orders and to minimize butt roll dimensions to 30" minimum.Report all maintenance defects to Lead or Supervisor and input information into the C-Works system.Monitor all gauges to ensure proper pressure and hydraulics.Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.Clean equipment and maintain good housekeeping.Exhibit the highest level of commitment, loyalty, attitude, behavior, leadership, and performance.Must promote teamwork (learning and contribution).Must be willing to accept new challenges regarding learning, special projects, team building and reports.Required cross training includes operating single facers and threading machine.Other job-related duties as assigned or delegated by supervisor.Maintain personal work area using GMPsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Working knowledge of hydraulics, steam and air pressure and the ability to monitor applicable gauges.Ability to verbally communicate with co-workers and supervisors necessary to perform the essential functions of the above position or any other-directed tasks.Ability to stand for standard 8-hour shift or longer.Ability to lift or push 50 lbs. frequently.Ability to bend and twist frequently.Some skills at record keeping include paper records and computer data input.Hood Container is an equal opportunity employer!
