Rec Asst - Park Aide

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK RATE OF PAY: $11.50 - $12.50 per hour MINIMUM AGE: 16 years HOURS OF WORK: Seasonal position; employees in this position are scheduled to work shifts between 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 p.m. on both weekdays and weekends during the months of April through September. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This is general caretaker work tending to the City of Dearborn's various parks throughout the city. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * May assist the Park Manager, Park Ranger, or Head Lifeguard with supervision of park operations. * May assist the Park Manager, Park Ranger, or Head Lifeguard in enforcing public compliance with park rules and regulations. * Cleans park comfort stations hourly and assists with aquatic facility cleanliness as necessary. * Picks up papers and other debris throughout the entire park including aquatic facility, if applicable. * Assists picnic groups and checks permits. * Performs other related work as required or assigned. * Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGLICENSING REQUIREMENTS SPECIAL NOTE: * Standard Health and First Aid, CPR, or Lifeguard Certification preferred. * Ability to speak Arabic is desirable. * Employees may be reassigned to a different location without prior notice. EXAMINATION PROCEDURE: * Applications will be reviewed. * Qualified applicants will be scheduled for an interview.
