Job Description: * Position Code: VDRIV * Position Supervisor: Student Life and Transportation Coordinator * Job Type: PT Hourly * Location: Longmeadow Campus * Hours: Flexible (Shifts within Sunday-Saturday; 12pm-7pm) * Exempt: No Job Summary: Safely transport Bay Path University students, faculty and staff to and from various locations on and off campus. Essential Job Functions: * Safely transport students, faculty and staff to and from various locations on and off campus in a prompt and courteous manner. * Be accessible to passengers during trips and available for assistance in the event of an emergency. * Handle vehicle problems and assist in the event of an accident. * Report any vehicle problems, repairs or maintenance needs via pre and post trip inspection paperwork and verbally to direct supervisor andor maintenance facilities. * Communicate with Student Activities and Transportation Coordinator upon return of student trips to inform of problems or issues that occurred during the trip. * Fuel vehicle upon return from trip. * Removal of trash and minor cleanup of vehicle at conclusion of each shift. * Attend trainings as required. * Other duties as assigned. Other Responsibilities: * Ability to work flexible hours. * If you operate a University owned, leased or personal vehicle at any time while performing your duties you must follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. * Additionally, you must report any driving offense, on or off company time, which causes a loss, suspension, or any other change in your license status. * You must report this change within one business day of the offense. You can report this change to the Human Resource Department or your direct supervisor. Failure to do so can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including terminations. Requirements: * Valid driver's license. * Must successfully pass the online safe Driving Course and driving record check at time of hire and annually thereafter. * Must successfully pass safe driving course within 30-days of employment. * Failure to successfully complete the course within the 30-day period is grounds for immediate termination. * Submit to and pass criminal offender records check (C.O.R.I.) * Submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening andor physical duties test. * Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. * Should be committed to a culture of diversity, respect and inclusion. * General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
