Job Title• Lead, FSQALocation• Brockton, MADepartment• Food Safety & Quality AssuranceReporting to• SupervisorManager, FSQAKey AccountabilitiesThe FSQA Lead is responsible for being the lead point person on the floor to meet any quality issues that may occur during the production shift. This person will be working in tandem with the QA Supervisor to ensure all food safety measures and quality parameters are being met as required. This includes, but is not limited to, foreign material issues, CCP deviations, CP deviations and any food safety transgressions. This person will be the subject matter expert for the routine tasks that the FSQA Department performs on a regular basis. The Lead will ensure that the production and distribution of Great Kitchens products meet the required company and regulatory standards. Ensure adherence to all safety and health standards and procedures as dictated by local, state and federal laws. Is "hands-on" and responsible for in plant testing as well as supporting the quality technicians. In the absence of the QA Supervisor the FSQA Lead will perform their duties.*2nd shift Quality Lead Person will also be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the nightly sanitation of the plant and the record keeping of sanitation functions.Responsibilities• Be a source of knowledge and support for the Quality Technicians and maintain a heavy shop floor presence.• Daily, the Quality Lead, will check email and will monitor and communicate information when issued by Change Requests or upper management correspondence. The Quality Lead will be responsible for making sure the appropriate personnel know and understand these changes and information. Monitor daily email communication from peers and Upper Management. In particular, be the point person of notifying shift personnel of a Change Request update.• Account for QA Technicians' attendance and work hours.• Monitor that productionquality line checks, weight checks, code checks and all other checks that are being completed as required. Insure standards for product quality, are maintained.• Monitor QC Technicians verification of Metal Detectors & X-ray equipment, ATP, Scales and Thermometers.• Be able to do minor trouble shooting of Metal Detectors & X-ray equipment, ATP, Scales and Thermometers.• Insure all HACCP related and production related paperwork is filled out completely and properly.• Complete all QC Hold Forms & Log; Corrective Action Forms & Logs and any other QA forms a needed.• Review all Quality paperwork & sign-off on USDA Pre-shipping records as needed.• Record all findings during their shift and document findings on the proper paperwork.• Assist in investigating and reporting of quality issues.• Report any potential quality issues to the QC Supervisor andor QC Director.• Report any safety issues to Production Supervisor, other department Leads, Production Manager, Quality Assurance Supervisor andor Director of Quality.• Oversee and complete Pre-operational Inspection and swabs as necessary.• Ability to train Great Kitchens employees and temporary employees.• Oversee and monitor pest activity as necessary.• Follow Great Kitchens GMP policy and ensure all employees follow Great Kitchens GMP policy and all company rules and regulations.• Follow all safety rulesrequirement and ensure all employees follow company safety rules.• Responsible for safety of all equipment used, reporting all unsafe conditions and accidents to the Supervisor or Manager.• Maintain and monitor good housekeeping practices in accordance with company HACCPSQF certifications.• Watch for & report any suspicious activities or unusual observations to authorized personnel.• Facilitate a complete shift pass off meeting with First Shift Quality Assurance Personnel. This will be a meeting to discuss on going floor issues and transfer of appropriate paper work.• Maintain and monitor the Master Sanitation Schedule for completeness and accuracy. Notify Management of gaps and issues in completion of scheduled cleanings (2nd Shift).• Complete all other duties assigned by shift Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor.• Maintain and monitor good housekeeping practices in accordance with company HACCPSQF certifications.Food Safety Quality:• Adhere to all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), such as good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.• Follow all USDA guidelines• Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision andor quality assurance• Comply with customer requirements when applicableRequired:• Prior knowledge of a USDA facility• Prior FSQA position• Flexible scheduling (ability to change quickly)• Ability to work weekends• Overtime when necessary• Ability to send emails to management, suppliers, and laboratory• Work in tandem with other FSQA leadsSkills, Experience & Qualifications• High School, but an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's a plus• 1-2 years in a USDA environment• Understanding of Company quality processes; including Sanitation.• Basic skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)• Excellent communication skills.• Able to problem solve and address issues that arise or seek assistance from supervisor as needed.• Ability to communicate with all other departments in the facility.• Bilingual a plus (English andor Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole)Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
