About the job This position will reside within Global Strategic Sourcing Services (GSSS) group - the Indirect Sourcing group within the McDonald's Global Supply Chain organization. GSSS is a dynamic team that contributes directly to the bottom-line performance of the company, consulting with leaders throughout the organization to support initiatives that are driving McDonald's into the future. The categories within this function are dynamic and the scope is broad, fostering a wide variety of exposure to the business. Examples include Professional Services, Technology & Marketing. The leader in this role will be responsible for strategy development and execution, initiating and nurturing collaborator relationships and establishing and prioritizing activities to achieve objectives. The Strategic Sourcing Manager currently reports to the Sr. Director, Global Strategic Sourcing Services and will work closely with other team members, critical cross functional departments, and stakeholders at McDonald's HQ and in markets throughout the world. Responsibilities: Leverage curiosity and resources to establish new stakeholder relationships, understand needs and establish strategies to problem solve. Develop category strategies and execution plans, through team member collaboration. Reconcile business objectives and priorities with category objectives and priorities. Advise approach for the selection of a particular good or service, based on a variety of factors including cost/benefit, category & business portfolio strategies & business objectives. Advise collaborators on and/or negotiate commercial and operational terms. Develop negotiation plan to ensure terms are achieved with the supplier selected. Advise stakeholders on comprehensive and legally binding agreement for the goods and services. Monitor and manage on-going contract-level risks throughout the contract lifecycle. Regularly refresh applicable risk evaluations. Own and approve savings reported figures with support from Center of Excellence support function. Develop and foster strategic and operational relationships at Officer Level and below to advance cross functional business priority alignment, GSSS vision and overall value offering. Communicate results to stakeholder partners. Develop and monitor the pipeline of open initiatives across business areas (planned and unplanned) to forecast and manage sourcing operations resources and benefits. Qualifications Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: 4-year accredited degree required. Bachelors' Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or STEM fields preferred, MBA a plus. Minimum of 5 years' experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related functions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Customer first mentality with a passion to lead growth and continuous improvement. Ability to solve ambiguous problems, passion for driving plans independently and willingness to shift approach based on stakeholder needs and flex to support the team. Ability to foster meaningful team member relationships and influence both internally and externally to provide McDonald's with the highest value goods and services. Leverages internal and external network/sources to demonstrate best practices and solve problems. Solid understanding of procurement standard processes, including supplier negotiations, selection, evaluation, management, and development. Previous experience sourcing/negotiating with consultants or for professional services. Strong analytical competence with ability to synthesize complex information and articulate in a concise manner, translating into business recommendations, with a high level of completeness and accuracy. Proficient communication skills: ability to create, adjust and present both written and verbal communications to varying audiences in a confident, clear and concise manner.
