SUMMARY The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and other accounts as assigned, general ledger standard and adjusting entries, other analysis and support for monthly and year-end financial statement preparation including roll up of Agency wide core and non-core operational activity. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and oversee reconciliations of balance sheet accounts including cash reconciliations, fixed assets, fringe benefits, prepaid / accrued insurances, state unemployment reserve, and other misc. balance sheet accounts. Process and record all daily cash activity including deposits applied against A/R, and electronic payments made by ACH or wire transaction. Prepare and record all standard monthly journal entries including insurance expense and depreciation. Track and record all capital leases related to the Agency Work in conjunction with the CFO and the Corporate Controller on the year end audit. Maintain effective working relationships with banks for various cash related activities. Maintain cash flow analysis of Agency's operating cash including daily cash balance and amount outstanding on line of credit. Review accuracy of payroll entries, including cash related items and correspond with Payroll Manager. Maintain and reconcile legal expenditures in preparation of audit for pending litigation by independent auditor. Attend & participate in team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas. Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements. Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures. Maintain Schedules for Mortgage interest and payments. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Proficient in MIP accounting software including general ledger posting and account reconciliation. Bachelor's degree in accounting or business required with a minimum of 5 years in a general ledger accounting role. Knowledge of MS Office with intermediate skills in Excel and Word. Must possess strong communication skills both verbal and written. Familiarity of accounting software is a must. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to read, write and enter data into a computer. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP Directly reports to Corporate Controller. Directs report to this position are none. WORKING CONDITIONS No unusual working conditions. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Bookkeeper will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
