Software Development Engineer II, Data Center Systems & Automation Job ID: | Services LLC The Data Center Systems & Automation team is responsible for building the systems that automate and orchestrate the physical work processes that occur inside global data centers. Our talented team of datacenter engineers depend on our systems to perform their work safely, securely, efficiently, and free of defects, resultant in finished products being ready for customer-facing utilization. Our team is responsible for billions of dollars in capital and the ultimate success of our core infrastructure business. We are looking for software engineers who are excited about building industry leading, next generation Supply Chain Management and Workforce Management systems for AWS Data centers. In this role you will be responsible for the architecture, and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability, scalability and latency guarantees. In addition you will be expected to raise the standards of the organization by mentoring junior engineers, interviewing and up-leveling the coding standards. This is a highly visible program across multiple organizations where you will have the opportunity to have a huge impact. Key job responsibilities Deliver right-sized solutions to complex problems Design new features and services that deliver datacenter projects faster Build consensus on technical solutions within your team Advocate for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during team prioritization and planning BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
