Position Summary LifeStraw is seeking a Staff Accountant to work closely with our Accounting & Finance team and key cross-functional business partners. You will help us build a strong infrastructure to support growth and scale. You thrive in a start-up environment. This position will be reporting to our Accounting Manager, based in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Key Responsibilities include: General Accounting Month-end closing activities. General ledger maintenance Assist with external audit, budgeting, forecasting and cash planning. Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls. Validate and verify various data sources, inputs, and outputs. Develop implementation of financial reporting within our ERP system, NetSuite Preparation of management reporting Identify inefficiencies and make improvements where necessary. Assist with various projects as needed Accounts Payable Process vendor bills, prepare disbursements and apply vendor payments. Assist with various payroll related tasks including management of employee expense reimbursements. Preparation and submission of sales tax filings Accounts Receivable Invoicing and billing of customers along with cash application, and chargeback management Manage customer balances and collections. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management skills Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 1-3 years of experience in professional accounting Strong knowledge of accounting principles and functions Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel Experience in public accounting or corporate finance preferred. CPA license or eligibility (150 credits) preferred. Experience in mass distribution retail sales a plus Experience with an ERP system preferred.
