About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 09 The Team: We are seeking a motivated Junior Build and Release Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our software development and operations group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality software products. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in build automation, continuous integration, and release management while working on exciting projects that make a real-world impact. Responsibilities and Impact: Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and maintain automated build and release pipelines. Configure and manage build tools, version control systems, and artifact repositories. Monitor and troubleshoot build and deployment processes to ensure smooth and reliable software releases. Implement and improve CI/CD best practices to enhance development productivity and product quality. Work closely with QA and operations teams to streamline deployment workflows and minimize downtime. Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions for deployment automation. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our build and release practices. Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $95,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, version control systems (e.g., Git), and build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and self-improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scripting and automation to streamline build processes and enhance release management efficiency. The ability to troubleshoot and optimize build and release automation scripts is essential for maintaining a robust and reliable software delivery pipeline. Proficiency in implementing and maintaining automated build and release pipelines is highly valued. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Salesforce is a plus. Knowledge of software testing principles and methodologies. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines is a bonus. Certifications in DevOps or related areas would be advantageous.
