CookUnity believes in fueling stronger communities, partnering with Food Bank For New York City to combat food insecurity across all five boroughs.The role:The Operations Manager is responsible for providing operational oversight and strong leadership to a growing team of associates and supervisors. This individual will have their hands in multiple aspects of the facility, managing the optimization and execution of the Fulfillment and Logistics :Deliver strategic operational leadership across all aspects of Fulfillment and Logistics with a hands-on approachManage, coach, and motivate a team of associates and supervisors, providing them with the necessary equipment, training, and quality directionLead growth and development of direct team including performance management and professional developmentOversee the entire process of sealing, labeling, picking, and packing meals, identifying opportunities and gaps to improve productivityMaintain a work environment that ensures and promotes food & team safety, ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Sustainability policies at all timesOngoing evaluation of logistics operations, streamlining systems/processes to improve efficiencyBuild and maintain the relationship with local and regional 3PL partners, ensuring our meals are delivered to our customers on timeWork in conjunction with Customer Experience to continuously improve the delivery experience, troubleshooting issues and providing innovative solutionsQualifications:4+ years of leadership experience in order fulfillment, transportation, and/or warehouse management operationsEffective project management skills, well-versed in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous ImprovementProficiency with Google apps (Gmail, drive, spreadsheets, etc.)Experience using large databases and e-commerce frameworks (we use Magento and OnFleet)Ability to look around corners to anticipate problems before they arise, with a proactive approach to innovationProven ability to effectively motivate and manage a high-performing teamOutstanding organizational and communication skills.
