We're one global team driven by our common purpose to deliver a better world. Join us. Job Description AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern to be based in Arlington, VA . This position is expected to begin in May 2025. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Performs specific portions of a broader assignment under the mentoring of an experienced structural engineer. Prepares designs and calculations for a variety of materials, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry. Evaluate, select, apply standard engineering techniques, and procedures to design structural building systems and members in buildings utilizing hand calculations and the latest structural engineering software. Coordinate with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process. Perform construction administration duties, including shop drawing review and RFI response preparation. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Structures concentration or higher in an engineering field or related with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating. Candidates must have completed three years of study in their program. Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required for this role. Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in MS Office Suite Ability to manage time, and deadlines, keep track of steps in progress, and prioritize tasks. Experience utilizing industry standard software packages such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Bluebeam (pdf editor), or similar. Familiar with structural engineering software such as RAM Structural Systems, ETABS, Enercalc, etc. Comfortable working in a high energy environment with frequent deadlines. Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Arlington, VA . The selected candidate must be available to work in Arlington, VA on a scheduled basis. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
