About This Role: The Vice President of Financial Assistance and Loan Servicing will oversee and manage all aspects of the credit union's collections and servicing departments. This role is critical in ensuring effective management of delinquent accounts, minimizing losses, and optimizing recovery processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic leadership and operational excellence, with a strong background in collections. They will collaborate with other senior executives to achieve organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive collections strategy aligned with the credit union's overall objectives. Provide visionary leadership to the collections team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability. Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the collections department, including the management of delinquent accounts, repossession, foreclosure, and recovery efforts, with a strong emphasis on member service. Ensure efficient and effective processes that comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Loan Servicing Oversight: Manage the loan servicing function, ensuring efficient administration of loan accounts, accurate processing, and timely resolution of servicing issues. Enhance processes to improve member experience and operational efficiency. Policy and Procedure Development: Refine policies and procedures for teams to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance. Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the credit union remains in adherence. Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of collections efforts. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to achieve targets. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing collections team. Provide training and support to ensure team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles. Member Relations: Manage complex and sensitive situations involving members with delinquent accounts. Work to resolve disputes and maintain positive member relationships while ensuring the credit union's interests are protected. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Lending, Finance, Risk Management, and Compliance, to ensure alignment of collections strategies with broader organizational goals. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team and/or board of directors on collections performance, strategies, and outcomes. Who you are: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education, experience and management experience. A minimum of 10 years of work-related experience in a full-service financial institution or experience in a related position in a related field. At least five years management or supervisory experience. Strong leadership and team management abilities. In-depth knowledge of collections practices, regulations, and industry standards. Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex member interactions. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and other key stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base hourly range for this position is $130,000 - $145,000 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential incentives. This position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus. If you are hired at USALLIANCE Federal Credit Union, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package. All positions must adhere to standard BSA/AML policies, procedures, and processes.
