JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Manager, US Tax is responsible for overseeing and managing the US tax compliance and taxation functions of the ATS US subsidiaries. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, leading the preparation of tax provisions and returns, managing tax audits, and providing tax planning and advisory services to the US subsidiaries, when required. The Senior Manger will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial goals and maintaining the highest ethical standards in all tax-related activities. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the US Federal tax compliance and taxation functions of the US subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and strategies Lead the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provision (current and deferred) for the relevant legal US and foreign entities in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP Manage the preparation and review of Federal and State corporate income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance Manage the preparation of tax estimates and extensions for federal and state income tax purposes. Stay informed of new U.S. tax regulations and lead efforts to comply Assist with effective tax rate and cash flow forecasting, where necessary Manage the sales and local tax functions of the US subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations Assist with Transfer pricing analysis and documentation Assist with the process of US R&D credit compliance Direct the preparation of required tax forms and filings, as applicable, such as Form1042, W-8BEN-E and W9. Manage Federal/State tax audits and ensure any assessments are properly addressed Assess and prepare the treaty filings in the US and other jurisdictions. Manage service providers and budgets Communicate with IRS when required. Lead and support special projects and various global initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business strategies Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A university degree in finance or accounting and/or a professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, US CPA) is preferred, as is knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP. Experience: The successful candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, tax technical and leadership skills. The individual must be comfortable in a growing, dynamic business environment and be able to operate with a "hands-on" approach. Candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant US tax or accounting experience. Previous experience in public accounting is an asset.
