Discover more at: or About Maddox + You: We are seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for running the monthly close process in accordance with GAAP principles, as well as being a team lead to the accounting staff. More about You: Your key responsibilities will include: Run all phases of the closing and reporting functions, including preparing journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts Ensure compliance with GAAP, and corporate accounting policies and procedures Coordinate the team to complete audit and analysis of each balance sheet account as part of monthly close process Responsible for researching updates in accounting rules and regulations, and preparing memorandums documenting company policy Aid in the development, documentation and implementation of internal controls Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting standard operating procedures Assist with independent auditors to facilitate a successful audit and provide documentation requests, as necessary Liaises with other departments as necessary when reviewing GL activity during the month Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests Experience & Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Masters preferred CPA preferred Minimum 6-8 years of accounting experience Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Advanced in Microsoft Excel and Word required Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with ERP type accounting software Pay: Starting range with bonus: $90k-$110k. Plus up to $1k/month wellness stipend and other benefits.
