Who we are looking for Purpose Sr Manager, US Medical Affairs - Operations is a pivotal role that offers project management expertise to support the Medical Affairs team in the areas of project management, independent medical education, ISS, grants, sponsorships and financial accountability. This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of Medical Affairs and a strong emphasis on project management, tactical execution and financial responsibility. This role will act as a central point of coordination with US medical affairs leadership and the therapeutic areas, ensuring seamless communication and effective collaboration internally and with cross matrix partners (e.g business excellence and customer experience and well as finance). The Sr Manager will also play a key role in driving Medical Affairs initiatives, managing critical projects, and ensuring the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Medical Affairs team and its financial responsibilities. Main Responsibilities Work in close partnership within US medical affairs team and other cross-functional team partners to strategically develop standard processes and procedures for medical affairs activities, including, but not limited to, independent medical education, investigator sponsored studies and financial reports. Support activities to further medical affairs initiatives, independent medical education, investigator-initiated studies, financial reports and collaboration across cross-functional partners to create greater efficiencies. Partner with and assist with month-end closing activities and reconciliations related to budget tracking, billing, accounts receivable, and expense accruals. Work in close collaboration to plan, coordinate and execute all logistics related to independent medical education and investigator studies. Support material development and logistics for internal review process for all externally for the review and evaluations of independent medical education and investigator sponsored studies. Where appropriate, respond to customer inquiries regarding billing issues and provide exceptional customer service. Manage/perform project closeouts and reconciliations. Development and execution of communication tools for medical affairs activities. Provide medical affairs support on project teams as applicable. Participate in benefit/risk ratio assessment for vigilance and establish calendars and project tracking and maintain project trackers and metrics as requested including functional audit preparation. Experience Required 5 years of experience in a project management role with at least 2 years of direct experience in medical affairs operations or similar. Demonstrated in depth knowledge and experience in planning, management, and oversight of activities and deliverables, preferably within Medical Affairs. Strong knowledge of and ability to implement Medical Affairs concepts and operational practices with financial responsibilities and communication. Proven experience with successful management and interaction with medical affairs vendors, with a focus on purchase orders, accounts payable, and financial reports and reconciliation. Proven track record of managing multiple projects and/or programs concurrently with cross matrix collaboration. Deep knowledge and ability to use project management software and tools, as well as Smartsheet and Teams channels. Experience in strategic and tactical planning and execution and developing and implementing processes and procedures. Ability to design, implement and lead multiple projects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress towards goals. Ability to use Microsoft applications effectively; in particular, experience using basic to intermediate formulas in Excel is preferred. Education Bachelor's Degree required.
