Philadelphia FIGHTFamily Dentistry General Dentist Job DescriptionPhiladelphia FIGHT is an AIDS Service Organization that became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in 2014. We have been providing primary care for people living with HIV/AIDS and those at very high risk since 1990. Our program provides a team-centered, multi-disciplinary approach that in addition to clinical care offers access to behavioural health and substance abuse services, a wide range of educational programs, HIV counselling and testing, and youth programs. Philadelphia FIGHT Family Dentistry provides culturally competent, non-judgmental, high quality dental care to both adult and pediatric patients regardless of the ability to pay.Qualifications: The General Dentist should be licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Pennsylvania. Minimum 1+ years of experience in a dental office and/or have completed a GPR or AEGD. Must be able to demonstrate judgment, patience, integrity, organization, and prioritization in multi-task environment. Needs to have attention to detail, dependability, listening and communication skills, and flexibility. Must have cultural competency and take a trauma-informed and harm-reduction approach to health care. Proficiency in Spanish preferred.Responsibilities include:Dental care:Improve patient well-being through accurate and timely diagnosis and delivery of high quality general dental care. Meet or exceed all measurable standards of care.Ensure the delivery of competent, accurate, and compassionate dental care to all patients assigned, and that dental procedures are consistent with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, including clinic policies and quality handle medical emergencies.Manage difficult patients, demonstrating interpersonal savvy and influence skills.Maintain and improve professional and technical knowledge.Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate confidentiality with patient charting and related recordkeeping and administrative functions as assigned.Teaching and education responsibilities:Provide direct supervision of dental students, dental hygiene students, pre-dental students, and other students, volunteers and interns on site.Deliver lectures and lead seminars based, as needed and based on mutual agreement of dentist and Philadelphia FIGHT.Dental team responsibilities:Develop and ensure ongoing, positive relationships and collaboration with other dentists and dental staff members.Uphold and ensure compliance and attention to all FIGHT policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the and patiently mentor dental students, dental hygiene students, and other interns/volunteers present at the clinic.Assist with in-service and ongoing training of clinic staff.Assist in reviewing clinic productivity, scheduling procedures, and establishing protocols for care and in outreach events and FIGHT community events in lieu of regular clinic hours, as needed and based on mutual agreement of dentist and Philadelphia FIGHT.General responsibilities:Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Exercise good judgment in bringing any issues necessary to the Dental Director. Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.Constantly strive to achieve excellence in the day-to-day operations of Philadelphia FIGHT Dental Services.Start date: Expected November 2024Work hours: 40 Hours/Week (M-F 9:00AM to 5:00PM)Salary range: Commensurate with experience.Travel requirements: Minimal local travel required between Philadelphia FIGHT Health Centers.Physical demands: Occasional lifting of 40-50 lbs and pushing of 5-20 lbs. Sitting, standing and walking approximately 80% of the time. A medium to high level of manual dexterity is required. Bending and reaching approximately 20% of the time. Normal accessibility and mobility required. Normal overtime/extended work hours. Other: Initial probationary period is three months.
