Description The Fulfillment planner is an essential part of the distribution team and ensures the flow of orders necessary for all distribution operations. Planners ensure that our company never runs out of necessary pick tickets for the distribution of DVD and Blu-ray products. They work both as part of a team and independently in a variety of settings. Fulfillment planners may be required to perform physically intensive work, such as surveying inventory and inspecting the production line for order issues. They also may be required to work in spaces that are not temperature controlled. Typically work regular 1st and 2nd shift hours but may be required to come in on weekends when working on large orders or to address distribution needs. Requirements Create and Distribute Fulfillment labels to Distribution Group Fulfillment planners ensure the steady flow of pick labels necessary for order flow within the logistics team line. Planners make sure there's adequate inventory for the orders being planned without over-allocating product titles. Ensure Product Supply These planners watch over the inventory supply, ensuring adequate product availability for the flow of pick tickets. They monitor materials flow to identify bottlenecks and forecast problems. Inventory Support Fulfillment planners observe trends and customer requests to alert management of possible issues. Being mindful of production volume spikes helps support the distribution team order flow. Tracking of Orders Logging ticket labels and tracking to ensure closure of all multi-line orders. Supporting the account management group with updates on order completion. Communication with Other Departments Material planners act as liaisons between account management, manufacturing, and distribution. They receive orders into a dashboard portal for the coordination of order label creation. The communication between all inner supply chain departments is critical in this role. Material Planner Skills and Qualifications Fulfillment planning requires industry knowledge of WMS systems that support the logistics of supply chain management. The appropriate candidate would have the following skills: Knowledge of production planning processes - managing the supply of pick tickets for distribution means fulfillment planners are highly skilled in organizing a vast array of client orders in a single environment for strategic planning. Critical thinking - planners can think clearly and rationally about every task at hand. They often work independently to review logistics and can analyze situations to solve problems and create solutions Time management - material planners must keep tight schedules and possess the ability to prioritize, schedule, and set and meet distribution goals Organization skills - managing a queue of thousands of orders requires coordinating multiple departments making sure processes run smoothly, so planners must stay organized and keep distribution flowing at an appropriate pace, meeting set volume objectives Communication skills - material planners work within a team and are often the only point of contact between the account managers, manufacturing, and distribution departments
