We are a part of the Division of Internal Medicine Residency Program and support attending managed & resident managed clinics for all levels of primary care health needs and also urgent care needs. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some flexibility. No weekends, nights or holidays are required. Diversity your nursing skill set with our team!The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare , Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare REQUIRED:One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if individual is not a graduate of a medical assistant programNo work experience if individual is a graduate of a medical assistant programPrevious experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e-mail, etc.Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skillsExperience PREFERRED:Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical AssistantPrevious experience in an academic health care environmentEducation/training REQUIRED:High School Diploma or equivalentEducation/training PREFERRED:Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).Independent action(s) required:Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor: time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care which deviates from standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs.Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/AAdditional position requirements:Certified Medical Assistants work all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
