Position Type: Non-Affiliated Support/Computer Technician Date Posted: 10/30/2024 Location: PCCS district Closing Date: Until filled District: Plymouth-Canton Community Schools POSITION: Computer Technician JOB OVERVIEW: The Computer Technician will support the technology infrastructure for the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 direct technical support to end-users. Additional responsibilities include the following: Installation and maintenance of PC's, Apple computers, Chromebooks, and iPads; installation and maintenance of classroom technology and audio visual systems; technical support for users; installation and maintenance of software; and any other duties as assigned. LOCATION: Multiple Buildings QUALIFICATIONS : MINIMUM: High school graduate or equivalent. Training beyond high school is preferred. Experience in Tier 1 and/or Tier 2 direct technical support to end users. Experience with Windows, Chrome OS, iPad OS, and Mac OS devices. Experience supporting others with desktop, laptop, and mobile devices. Self-directed individual. Ability to learn new technical skills quickly and independently. Ability to analyze needs/problems and develop procedures to solve problems. Ability to handle several projects/requests simultaneously. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to meet timelines. Ability to maintain integrity and high moral character. Ability to serve students, staff, and the public pleasantly and efficiently. Current Driver's license and personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) PREFERRED: Experience with server-based systems including Microsoft Active Directory. Experience with networking, including wired and wireless. Experience with computer imaging and remote management. Experience with Google Workspace for Education. REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Integrated Technology Systems JOB ENVIRONMENT: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Director, Systems Administrators, and Technical Coordinators, Computer Technicians will provide Tier 1 or Tier 2 direct support to end users with: Desktop and laptop platforms, including Windows, Chrome OS, iPad OS, and Mac OS. Mobile devices, including Chromebooks and iPads. Classroom technology including both standard and interactive projectors, voice amplification systems, and document cameras. Communication systems including IP telephone, voicemail, and other messaging platforms. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Systems Administrators and Technical Coordinators with maintenance of the District's overall technology infrastructure. Install, configure, and maintain computing systems including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices running Windows, Chrome OS, iPad OS, and Mac OS. Install, configure, and maintain District software applications. Test and evaluate new software and hardware. Address primary technical support issues throughout the district, both onsite and remotely, through the use of the help desk system. Repair and/or replace damaged technology equipment. Maintain accurate documentation on how to use, maintain, and troubleshoot District technology. Establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders. Effectively communicate to end users. Assist with maintaining inventory of technology equipment and resources. Work with manufacturers and vendors on warranty claims. Assist other Technicians, Technical Coordinators, Systems Administrators, Director and Executive Director of Integrated Technology Systems with other technology needs. Upon request, provide technology support outside normal school hours. Other duties as assigned. BEGINNING DATE : As soon as possible SALARY INFO : Non-Affiliated Technician salary schedule. $41,873 - $53,489 Placement on the salary schedule will be based on experience and qualifications. 52 weeks per year.
