JOB SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining the LAN, WAN, and telephone systems' operational infrastructure and routing. This includes system upgrades, system documentation, daily administration, and problem resolution as well as assisting staff and users in problem resolution, as needed, relating to hardware, software, and communication issues. Will also participate in the design, planning and execution of infrastructure to support new applications, technologies, and business continuity planning. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Configure networking equipment such as routers, switches, VLANs, NATs, etc. Keeps all LANs in properly maintained working order, and updates the LAN operating systems as required. Setup, configure, backup, and maintain bank's IP phone system. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS). Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. Establishes and documents procedures for network (e.g., installation, backup, etc.). Ensures network users, user environment, and directories are being maintained. May serve as backup for network security. Develops and implements approved data backup and system disaster recovery plans for all financial institution data networking systems. Stays current with industry advances and changes in user, system software and system hardware requirements. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. Participates in an on call rotation including evening and weekend support. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Communication- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. Computer Skills - Proficient computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity and advanced features of word processing and spreadsheet software. Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming Banking -- Knowledge of financial industry and bank dynamics, and a thorough knowledge of bank's products and services, and bank security and transaction policies. Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision making. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Monitoring - Monitoring/assessing your performance to make improvements or take corrective action. Law and Government - Knowledge of banking laws and regulations. Bank Secrecy Act - In the performance of all the respective tasks and duties, employee will maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree in information systems or equivalent combination of computer courses and business experience. Preferred Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or extensive experience with Cisco networking. Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) Understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model. Experience working with enterprise VoIP phone systems. Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools. One to Three years of experience working with PCs and networks. Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
