Job Title: Proofreader Location: Hadley, MA, 01035 Duration: 5+ Months Job Type: Contract Work Type: Remote Job Description: The Proofreader / Quality Assurance Administrator will apply their proven skills of proofreading and quality control to a wide range of materials associated with test development. They will partner with graphic artists, publishing technicians, and other quality assurance staff to coordinate efforts within the group and meet shared goals. Proven proofreading and quality control skills Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Effective communication and negotiation skills Proficiency with Microsoft systems/software (Outlook, Word, Excel), PDF software, file management, and computer/internet-based navigation; ability to master new technology Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities Experience with collaborative, team-based efforts Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating the efforts of others to meet shared goals Primary responsibilities will include: Proofread test items and supporting documents to ensure content is grammatically accurate, free of typos, and adheres to established guidelines and styles Ensure accuracy of the content as it is handled throughout the materials production process Perform various quality control and technical checks, such as item accounting and formatting Maintain accurate, up-to-date work plans and tracking logs; provide status to management.
