Position Summary: The Accounting Manager oversees accounting, workflow, financial reporting and provides accounting direction and analytical support to all departments and leadership. This position is responsible for the overall quality and of accounting and financial compliance for the financial success of the company. This includes overseeing and assisting with per-job performance, company performance, budgeting and forecasting. Ensure quality accounting of A/R, A/P, payroll, month end/quarter-end and year-end close and reporting and managing overall business cash flow. The Accounting Manager will have a strong ability to lead, manage and hold people accountable. Reports To: Owner Supervisory Authority: The Accounting Manager shall have the authority to employ staff members and/or external accounting partners as necessary in alignment with objectives and the budget to carry out the work and achieve the key results of the company. For staff or external accounting partners the Finance Manager shall delegate their duties and responsibilities and be accountable for their performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Stewards the brand exemplifying the mission and values while growing and protecting the reputation of GDB. Responsible for building trust with employees, partners and customers. Accountable for building and leading a high-performing team and instilling the culture of Gabor as one which is dedicated to its mission and values of maintaining the highest level of excellence and integrity, and strongly oriented to delivering outrageous customer service. Manages the general accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, commissions, tax and benefits functions accountable that deadlines are met and activities are in compliance with internal and external controls, policies and procedures. Manages the annual budgeting and interim forecasting process, pricing, markup and margins, cashflow, cost saving initiatives, capital expenditures/vehicle lease and fleet program, other assets and transfers. Manages accounting firm partnering for checks and balances of account reconciliation and financial statements monthly, quarterly and annually. Reviews statements and supporting documentation for accuracy, financial trends and strategy. With accounting partners ensures financial strength of the company, advises on concerns, improvements and long-term financial strategy for overall profitable success of the company. Manage project progress invoicing and payments, change orders and final invoicing. Produce per project labor and materials progress status reports (WIP accounting) for Sales, Design and Project Managers comparing budget and allowance against actuals. Produce final project job costing reports and finalize applicable commissions based on financial performance. Manages credit and collection function in an effort to maximize cash-flow. Ensures division is in compliance with company credit and stop service policies. With interior design and production, develop and maintain procurement and payment policies and procedures, including managing purchase orders. Manage developing and maintaining trade partner contracts, invoicing and payment policies and procedures. Manage company benefits programs of health, dental, vision and life insurance along with retirement plans. Manage developing and maintain inventory policies and procedures. Works with and manages external insurance agents and financial audits and tax teams. Manage quarterly and annual tax liabilities state and federal. Manage Sales and Use Tax reporting and payment recording. Other duties as assigned or apparent. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration with emphasis in accounting. Professional accounting certification a plus. 3-5-years' experience in accounting with progressive experience and leadership responsibilities in construction accounting. Proficient in QuickBooks desktop and online; competent in Microsoft Office Suite specifically Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with Buildertrend, Smartsheet and/or other like software a plus. Solid ability to build relationships, to motivate, negotiate and persuade diverse groups and individuals. Ability to manage conflict and crisis management. Organizational and time management skills with the ability to shift priorities and deal with changing demands in an effective manner. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse audiences. Strong work ethic and accountability. Positive attitude open to teamwork and thoughtful approach to management and leadership while holding people accountable. High energy and sense of humor. Valid driver's license, car insurance and reliable mode of transportation. Ability to travel locally if necessary.
