This person will work primarily on projects requiring process control and system integration expertise. The ideal candidate can work well within a project team and can communicate applicable concepts and ideas to customers, suppliers, and engineering personnel. He/she will represent our interests related to electrical, controls and automation throughout the life cycle of a project, from proposal to final acceptance. Job Responsibilities: Develop process control systems capable of operating degreasing and pickling lines. Produce technical specifications to purchase equipment and services. Specify and select commercial electrical / control system components. Prepare motor and instrument lists. Prepare system functional description based on system P&ID. Create power / control schematics with BOM for ancillary equipment. Develop specifications to purchase power distribution equipment including MCC, PCR, transformer / power distribution equipment, cabling, and bus bars. Assist the Purchasing department in qualifying and selecting sub suppliers. Technical review of sub supplier quotations to ensure compatibility with the process. Direct and oversee electrical / controls work sub-contracted to outside firms. Provide pre-sale technical assistance and participate in design reviews with the end user. Interact with members of sales and project execution teams. Able to travel to end user site to collect field information for internal and external use. Ability to take "ownership" of the work assigned and make decisions. Professional attitude and strong communication skills Must be disciplined and deadline oriented. Able to manage priorities and work independently. Able to work collaboratively with employees of all levels within the organization Education / Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, BSEE. 2-5 years' experience as an Electrical or Controls Engineer related to chemical or mechanical processes involving liquid storage, process control and instrumentation. Hands on experience in the start-up and commissioning of large integrated systems. Experience with industrial drive systems, HMI systems, Level I architecture and communication systems. Moderate to Extensive PC skills with VISIO and AutoCAD. Experience with EPlan or AutoCAD Electrical, PLC programming software and Microsoft Project. Extensive experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite. Work Environment: Office environment or while traveling movement about the customer's facilities and site will require the ability to climb stairs and navigate through tight areas that are common in steel mills and construction sites.
