The district serves approximately 3500 students in grades K-12 at six schools. Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Business and supervision of the school board, the School District Treasurer is regarded as a highly important position involving responsibility for the accounting of fiscal operations of the District. Skills & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Implement and control adopted school budget Receive district's funds from various levels of government and other sources and deposit in the bank(s) designated by the BOE Sign all checks issued by the district Keep a record of district receipts and disbursements Submit reports of district's finances to the Board of Education Knowledge of accounting and record keeping principles Knowledge of financial software for schools Prepare financial records and documents for the external, internal, and claims auditors Prepare required filings with the New York State Education Department and federal government agencies in a timely fashion Prepare accurate cash flow reports, budget projections Keep up to date with current developments, current interpretations, and current methodology of financial accounting Keep up to date with school finance rules and regulations Support business official in budget requisitions and assist in preparing and monitoring the budget Organizational and time management skills Salary/Pay Scale: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 (Annual wage) Application Deadline: 11/15/2024 Start Date: 02/01/2025 Close
