We are seeking a proactive and dedicated EHS Site Leader to join our EDCOAT team in New, Carlisle, Indiana. This essential role will champion a culture of safety and environmental compliance, aligning closely with our leadership to implement and enhance EHS programs. The EHS Site Leader will oversee our safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a safe work environment for all employees. This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the Director of Operations and follows standard working hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST. Key Responsibilities: Lead initiatives to cultivate a safety-first culture, prioritizing employee health and safety. Collaborate with the Director and Production Manager to develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations, including adherence to IDEM and federal regulations behind the site's applicable environmental programs: General Industrial Stormwater Management: Conduct inspections, reporting, and sampling activities. Hazardous Waste Management (Large Quantity Generator): Manage inspections, reporting, and compliance with DOT HazMat training requirements; implement and follow management and contingency plans. Significant Industrial Discharge (Wastewater): Maintain permits and records, ensuring analytical results meet permit limits. Air (Title V): Monitor and maintain compliance through deviation reporting, pressure drop checks, and recordkeeping. Tier II & TRI: Collect and manage chemical storage data for regulatory compliance. Maintain comprehensive records for audits and regulatory reporting, including OSHA and environmental requirements. Drive continuous improvement of EHS policies and training programs to optimize safety performance and regulatory compliance. Stay up-to-date with EHS trends, policies, regulations, and industry best practices. Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for new hires and existing staff, including emergency procedures and workplace safety. Lead safety meetings, routine audits, and accident investigations, providing actionable insights for improvement. Maintain positive relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, and regulatory agencies to foster a proactive safety environment. Ensure accurate data management and reporting for audits, investigations, and regulatory compliance. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Competencies: Attention to Detail: Demonstrates high accuracy and thoroughness in data management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 3 years of EHS-related experience. Proven experience in managing EHS programs and compliance with IDEM and federal regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Wastewater licensing is a plus! Working Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very loud. To perform the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or type and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be regularly required to walk and occasionally climb stairs, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
