We are currently seeking to hire Building Porters for multiple shifts for our food manufacturing facility in Hillside, NJ. 1st shift - $15.37 2nd - 15.37 plus .20 shift differential The Building Porter will be responsible for keeping all working areas and physical surroundings of the plant in a clean and orderly condition. This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and AAK Foodservice procedures and policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Clean production department floors, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas. Complete necessary documentation for cleaning non-production areas. Empty waste baskets and trash bin collectors. Collect and transport trash and waste to the disposal area. Operate waste compactor units. Replenish cafeteria and rest room supplies. Operate electric floor scrubber machine. Clear floor spills in the production and warehouse areas. Clean and maintain outer perimeter of the facility including basic landscaping, trash removal, etc. Operate a forklift to transport materials in the plant. Cover missing personnel positions in the production area. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must pass forklift training certification written and practical tests. Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, recognize similarities and patterns, comprehend short correspondence and memos. Ability to communicate with line leader, and supervisor. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship.
