Job Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Worker Department: Maintenance Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor FLSA Status: Hourly General Overview: Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on all production machinery; troubleshooting and performing overall maintenance on all production machinery and facilities; construction and implementation of procedure improvements; monitoring of inventory and ordering of maintenance supplies. E ssential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform all maintenance related operations in a safe manner and follow prescribed safety procedures always adhering to proper PPE Perform preventive maintenance on all production machinery Troubleshoot and perform overall maintenance on all production machinery Construct and implement improvement procedures Unload incoming product and supply shipments Communicate production concerns as it relates to maintenance with the Production Supervisor Assist with company and departmental moves Maintain building and grounds for the Manufacturing buildings Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams. Individual must be able to work overtime when required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required: Prefer two-year degree in manufacturing maintenance or three years of related manufacturing work experience Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints in high pressure situations Experience in electronics Knowledge of welding Forklift operating experience Individual must have ability to work alone or with limited supervision Knowledge of using hand air tools including drills, saws, and grinders. Individual should have effective communication skills to effectively hand off in-process maintenance repairs to the next shift Knowledge of using hand tools including hammers, screw drivers, saws, and drills Knowledge of using wire feed arc welder, propane torch, hand floor jack, hydraulic pumps, and two-part resin dispensing system. Ability to work overtime when required Working Conditions: Manufacturing work environment Safety Hazards: Exposure e to dust, air borne fibers, fumes, dirt, noise, vibrations, chemicals, and solvents. Work is also performed outside in extreme temperatures ranging from hot and humid to snow and freezing temperatures. Walking between buildings year-round is required. Safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots, and gloves are required while performing certain tasks. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, ability to write advertising, reports, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must have proven exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra. The individual must be able to proficiently read a tape measure. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems and contribute to problem solving.
