Description Capitol Broadcasting Company is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant who will report to the TV and Digital Controller, to provide operational accounting and finance support for their Television and Digital divisions. The right candidate must be a team-oriented, self-starter who can establish meaningful relationships and handle multiple accounting and finance functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, recording journal entries and intercompany transactions, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, calculating bonuses and commissions, preparing monthly forecasts and variance analyses, document processes, and other accounting and close-related tasks. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, highly organized, and has strong interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with individuals at all levels within the organization. The ideal candidate for this role is a strong accountant who desires to be a key business partner in the organization. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. Independently prepare and calculate commissions, obtain approvals from GM and communicate commission amounts to HR and business unit accounting managers for payment. Review Accounts Receivable aging monthly, follow up with Account Executives regarding client late payment. Provide management with DSO and AR aging and write off analysis. Prepare and review monthly intercompany transactions for revenue and expense items. Prepare and/or review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts including Cash, Accounts Receivable, Suspense, Prepaids, etc. Support sales account executives with various requests to facilitate billing and collections activities. Perform departmental expense reviews and monthly variance analysis for assigned divisions, identifying and recording necessary reclasses and accruals when required. Maintain process documentation for assigned tasks and responsibilities. Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement opportunities to streamline or improve accounting processes. Populate property tax filings and insurance renewal requests. Work on Special projects as needed. Required Qualifications: BS or BA degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from a four-year college or university. At least 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance. Proficiency in corporate information and accounting systems. Advanced level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required, including intermediate Excel analytical and modeling capabilities. Should be proactive, positive, and results oriented with strong communication skills. Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external parties. Preferred Qualifications: Master of Accountancy and CPA licensure preferred. Experience with accounting for multiple divisions in a mid-sized or large public or PE-backed organization a plus. Experience using Wide Orbit and Oracle Cloud Financials and SmartView preferred.
