Description The Mortgage Loan Officer actively grows the mortgage portfolio through strategic activities including networking, calling on area professionals, list calling, hosting seminars etc. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Proven experience in financial services or related fields, with a focus on sales and customer relationship management. Strong understanding of mortgage products, including FNMA guidelines and mortgage servicing processes. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate for clients effectively. Proficient in using accounting software and other relevant tools for managing loan applications. Solid mathematical skills for accurate calculations related to loans and interest rates. Ability to perform credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a commitment to providing outstanding service. Requirements Knowledge and Skills: Experience: 3 to 5 years of similar or related experience Must have established relationships with local area realtors and broker Must be registered by the Nationwide Multi-state Licensing System Registry (NMLS) Education: A two-year college degree, or Completion of a specialized certification or licensing; or Completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendor. Interpersonal Skills: Extensive personal contact with others of a personal and sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Other Skills: Computer skills including: Microsoft Office, Blue Sage (preferred) Interpersonal: demonstrated initiative, leadership and self-motivation; ability to prioritize duties and meet deadlines; a positive attitude; dependability; ability to maintain a regular work schedule to meet the needs of the business and punctuality are required.
