We have a great opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager in our global law firm client's New York office. The ideal candidate will execute on marketing and business development programs and initiatives to support the Firm's market leading Labor & Employment Department, with a focus on leading efforts for the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation and ERISA Litigation practices. A key aspect of this role will involve working across the departments to execute firm wide initiatives for managing and growing client base and generating revenue in relation to hot topics and trends. The Manager will work closely with key partners and other stakeholders to ensure a focused and coordinated approach to business development and marketing efforts. In addition, the Manager will work closely with various managers and directors within Client Development and will support the lawyers in their office/practice groups as needed. What You'll Do: Oversee strategic initiatives by working with key stakeholders and directly supervising the business development team on the execution. Understand the firm's high value offerings, clients' business objectives and industry challenges/opportunities and identify cross-practice initiatives to best capitalize on current market trends. Generate and lead innovative campaigns that best showcase our 'best in class' offerings. Serve as an advisor to the lawyers and client development team on specific strategic initiatives and high value opportunities. Identify opportunities and create strategy for pitches and RFP responses. Partner with client development leadership team on operational excellence, efficiencies and effective use of resources toward meeting strategic objectives. Work with the Communications/PR team to build Firm's brand and raise visibility. What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree with a concentration in business, marketing, English, communications, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a similar role in a professional services firm. Strong strategic business development background and knowledge of core principles. Strong client service skills. Understand the broad areas of law practice by a full-service, international law firm. Maintain professional composure in high-pressure situations and a fast-paced, multi-authority environment. Lead and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision. Communicate effectively with lawyers, staff and peers. Effect change and motivate a diverse group of partners.. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytic and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; InterAction experience preferred. Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a team with a positive attitude. Allocate of work, prioritize and recognize resources required of a project. High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow through. Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands, and evolve with position as required.
