We have an excellent opportunity for an entry-level experienced Cannabis Jr. Accountant or equivalent financial professional looking to break into the exciting and rapidly growing cannabis industry. We are looking for a Cannabis Junior Accountant with experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and experience in the cannabis industry is a plus. The Cannabis Junior Accountant will be responsible for processing accounts receivable transactions, including monitoring customer accounts, tracking invoices, and ensuring timely payment of outstanding balances. The Cannabis Junior Accountant will also be responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, vendor relations, and will be able to assist in general accounting matters as the company continues to grow. This position is responsible for upholding Proper Brands' mission, vision, goals, and objectives. Our Cannabis Junior Accountant will work out of our facility in Rock Hill, MO. The salary starts at $59,000 and up depending on experience. Responsibilities This will include but is not limited to the following: Invoicing of wholesale customers throughout the state, including interfacing transactions from supporting customer ordering systems; Setting up new products/sku's in billing system as needed; Tracking and posting bank payments from customers to Accounts Receivable system; Reviewing and monitoring customer accounts for accuracy; Working closely with the Wholesale Sales team members to help monitor customer Accounts receivable issues/status; Ensuring vendor invoices are approved and entered/interfaced into the Accounts Payable system in accordance with company purchasing policies and processes; Verifying accuracy of vendor invoices; Processing timely payment to vendors; Working closely with the Sales, Production, and Admin teams to ensure accurate and timely vendor invoicing and payment processing; Assisting with accounting and compliance for the company credit card program; Resolving any discrepancies or issues related to customer and vendor accounts, and other ad hoc projects. Qualifications: Ability to obtain a Missouri Agent ID by start date; Must be 21 years of age or older; Working knowledge of transaction processing systems, and general ledger; Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; Knowledge of cannabis industry regulations and compliance a plus; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The following education, skills and experience are required for this role: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience in accounting; 1 year or more of experience in an accounting department, with experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes; Experience with QuickBooks and/or other accounting software a plus; Proficient with Excel. Environment This position requires the ability to work seated for several hours at a time and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Some filing is required. The work environment is an air-conditioned, smoke-free, office environment within a warehouse that produces cannabis products. The constant exposure to cannabis particulates can be expected within this environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position may require travel up to 5% of the time between our warehouse and retail locations.
