Location BHG Bronson Healthcare Group Title IT Manager, Consumer and Community Health The IT Manager, Consumer and Community Health is responsible for delivery of tools, products and services to support Bronson Healthcare Group and Community Connect partners. Including but not limited to, design, implementation, maintenance and support of information systems, patient care delivery solutions, consumer products, patient portal and administrative activities assigned. Knowledge of the following areas is a plus: electronic medical record integrations and solutions, patient experience platforms and delivery, Epic, patient portal, Community Connect, contract/vendor management and business relationship management. The Manager participates as a member of the leadership team for Information Technology. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served. Bachelor's degree required, Masters in a related field preferred At least 3 years of successful progressive experience in the implementation and support of information technology systems in a healthcare environment preferred Current clinical licensing, board certification, or other IT certification, if applicable • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to health information technology, privacy, and other applicable areas • Expertise in project management with demonstrated ability to bring multiple simultaneous assignments to satisfactory conclusion according to defined parameters • Working knowledge of the emerging best practices for the operational aspects of healthcare delivery or health information technology • Must have considerable tact and communication skills in order to negotiate with, gain the acceptance of and/or change the thinking of others in difficult and complex situations Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects. • In consultation with superior and subordinate supervisory personnel develops short- and long-term goals for his/her area of responsibility, and plans to accomplish agreed-upon goals. • Develops, secures approval of, and administers the budget which provides for the attainment of agreed upon goals and in accordance with approved plans. • Formulates or plays a significant role in the formulation of policies for his/her area of responsibility and secures appropriate approvals. Develops and administers procedures necessary to implement approved policies and provides the overall direction necessary to ensure efficient and effective services. • Hires, develops, evaluates, and (when necessary) disciplines and discharges subordinates or makes authoritative recommendations in such matters. • Directs the preparation of departmental records as well as recurring and special reports an analyses, ensuring that they are complete, accurate and prepared on time. Reviews and interprets them in order to ascertain the extent to which departmental goals are being attained; takes corrective action as necessary. • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IT information systems environment, ensuring that their area is effectively managed, supported and available for use in all healthcare delivery and support locations. • Provides leadership in the areas of planning, development, preparation and implementation of strategic and tactical planning for BHG and ensuring systems are prepared to meet interoperability requirements. • Provides leadership in the IT department and user community to ensure continued use of supported systems. • Keeps abreast of the federal and state laws and regulations related to health information technology and privacy and advises the organization on impacts to supported systems and recommends improvements to meet or exceed these requirements. • Keeps abreast of the emerging best practices relating to operational aspects of healthcare delivery and/or health information technology. • Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies, procedures, and standards related to supported systems. • Collaborates with all areas of IT and other Departments to direct implementation, use, and support health information technology systems and data in support of BHG's vision to be a national leader in healthcare quality. • Evaluates the impact of healthcare information technology on processes and works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, other clinicians, and leadership on quality and performance improvement in data management and analytics to impact the quality and safety in patient care. • Responsible for the deployment, integration, and modeling of the behaviors and standards of Bronson's Plan for Excellence in areas of direct responsibility and throughout the entire Bronson Healthcare Group. • Responsible for ensuring that our employees follow safe practices and procedures for the fair and ethical treatment of our patients, families, visitors and other customers • Responsible for making timely decisions and taking necessary action related to the readiness for, and compliance with, the requirements of internal and external bodies, involving compliance, accreditation, auditing, and other regulations required of Bronson Healthcare Group. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on specific area of expertise. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following. EHR • Maintaining the scope, schedule, and quality of the EHR initiative within their respective area • Ensuring that the business community is engaged in the EHR initiative • Reviewing the progress of the project on an ongoing basis with the EHR Vendor implementation coordinator Network Systems • Provide operations to ensure interface availability, integrity, and confidentiality. • Defines and develops methodology to ensure compatibility of all software and hardware products for all BHG locations. • Oversees the testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities including software, power, communications, machinery, lines, modems, and terminals. • Ensure WAN and LAN network meet current and future network requirements. • Develops, implements, maintains, and revises policies, procedures, and standards related to network, infrastructure, interfaces and telecommunication systems and methodology to ensure compatibility of all software and hardware products for all BHG locations. • Responsible for telecommunications strategic and tactical planning. • Provides ongoing coordination in the analysis, acquisition, and installation of remote hardware and software. • Responsible for day-to-day administration and planning data organization to support data mining and robust reporting. • Provides leadership in the areas of planning, development, preparation and implementation of interfaces to support the strategic and tactical business information systems for BHG. • Develops, implements, maintains, and executes policies, procedures, and standards related to data organization. • Collaborates with all areas of information technology to ensure up to date and detailed data definitions and organization. IT Planning and Development • Responsible for day-to-day administration and planning for the Information Technology Department, tracking and updating the information systems operating and capital budget and providing reports to the CIO and Directors. • Creates, maintains and supports methodology related to idea intake, process improvement, and project management and trains Information Technology Department management, staff, and System Coordinators. • Provides leadership in the areas of planning, development, preparation and implementation of strategic and tactical business information systems for BHG planning for mergers. • Provides leadership for the determination of the benefits, risks, requirements, costs (total cost of ownership), specifications, and (as necessary) development of custom applications. • Serves as project manager as assigned; Provides leadership to project managers. • Provides leadership and support services for the prioritization of projects; provide staff support to committees or management assigned the responsibility of prioritization of projects. • Keeps abreast of the emerging best practices for health information technology as it relates to project management, process improvement, and portfolio management. • Develops, implements, maintains and executes policies and procedures related idea intake, process improvement, project management, mergers, and others as require Shift First Shift Time Type Full time Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Cost Center 1451 Information Technology Data Center (BHG) Agency Use Policy and Agency Submittal Disclaimer Bronson Healthcare Group and its affiliates ("Bronson") strictly prohibit the acceptance of unsolicited resumes from individual recruiters or third-party recruiting agencies ("Recruiters") in response to job postings or word of mouth.
