Long Term Care Facility seeking full-time Activity Director. GENERAL PURPOSE: Assist the Activities Director in the development, organization, coordination and implementation of comprehensive therapeutic recreation services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School graduate or equivalent. Previous experience in a social or recreational program coordination preferred. • Must hold or acquire required state licenses and/or certificates. • Must have ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary at accomplish the job. • Must be able to relate professionally and positively to residents and families and to work cooperatively with others. • Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use. • Must maintain regular attendance. • Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry. • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Description : The Activity Director position requires planning, assessments, organizing and carrying out a program of activities for the residents. Our successful candidate must have reliable transportation to assist with shopping for residents during the business day, have knowledge of social media and promotion using computers, utilize math and organizational skills for large-scale cigarette and item orders, will be able to assist residents with smoking in an enclosed/vented room, and must have skills to manage and schedule a team of activity aides. Qualifications : Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, use of the internet and Windows operating system, driver license to operate facility bus (no CDL required) with acceptable driving record, 90-hour Activity Professional course (or higher) or a minimum of 2 years' experience in long term care activity setting. Experience completing activity assessments (initial and quarterly), Section F of the MDS, creating and maintaining care plans, and event/activity scheduling. Weekend, evenings, and holidays will be required, at times. Drug test will be provided by facility before hire.
