Based out of our Macon, GA facility and reporting to the Controls Manager, the Control System Technician is responsible for completing tasks as assigned by his/her supervisor and the project manager responsible for associated projects. These tasks include but are not limited to; programming, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning and servicing of Building Automation Systems (BAS) controlling and monitoring commercial building HVAC equipment. This person should also maintain open communications, deliver top quality workmanship, develop customer relationships, and complete tasks/projects timely. The Control System Technician will receive support from the General Manager, Project Manager and other office personnel. ** Prevailing wages paid with Federal Government project work** Primary Job Duties: Software programming. Database development and backups. Downloading programs to controllers. Setting up BAS servers. Equipment start-up and check out, including tuning control loops and calibrating field devices. Follow all standard installation procedures. Commission building controls system to meet project design. Ensure start-up/commissioning forms are completed for all projects. Complete project punch lists timely. Coordinate and document customer training. Mark up project drawings to document progress and changes. Meet project deadlines. Assist sales with estimates as needed. Complete service calls as assigned. Expectations: Build and manage relationships with customers and contractors. Follow all company and customer safety guidelines. Safety is a high priority for employees and customers. Practice and maintain company core values: trust, honesty, integrity, and commitment. Maintain company's high level of quality installation and customer satisfaction. Look for, and suggest process improvements, both for efficiency and customer satisfaction. Basic Qualifications: HVAC system experience REQUIRED. 3+ years of HVAC controls experience. 3 + years of DDC Programming experience required. Experience with both new construction and service. Experience with Tridium Niagara 4 and AX software is preferred. Knowledge of control systems. Must be able to use a laptop computer running a windows operating system. Able to use a word processor. Must clearly communicate in verbal and written form. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings. Ability to work on a team and communicate effectively with others. High School diploma and two-year technical training certificate. Physical Demands Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other plumbing equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires:? stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work. Work Environment This job operates primarily alone and travels to different work sites each day. May work in tight spaces, typically indoors, but may work outside in poor weather conditions. Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
