Job Purpose: Huck's Market, a leading convenience store, is dedicated to providing fresh food and dispensed beverages along with exceptional friendly customer service. A Salaried Food Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our food and dispensed beverage operations, ensuring efficient workflow, exceptional customer service, and the highest standards of food and dispensed beverage quality and safety. You will lead a team of food service associates, providing guidance and support to ensure our food service department operates smoothly, effectively, and follows company food and dispensed beverage programs. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and motivate a team of Food Service Associates, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback. Assist Store Manager, Regional Recruiter, and/or District Manager in hiring Food Service Staff. Schedule staff effective to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and maintain labor costs within budgetary guidelines. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and a strong customer service focus. Kitchen Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the food service department, including food preparation, cooking, stocking, and merchandising. This also includes dispensed beverage preparation, stocking, and merchandising. Ensure compliance with food and dispensed beverage safety and sanitation standards, including required maintenance of certifications for food handling, food managing, conducting regular inspections, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage waste to minimize shrinkage and maximize profitability. Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving any issues or complaints promptly and professionally. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting kitchen area, including all food service display areas, adhering to visual merchandising standards and product presentation guidelines. Work in conjunction with Food Service Supervisors to promote new products, promotions, and menu items to drive sales and enhance customer experience. Training and Development: Provide comprehensive training to Food Service Associates on food and dispensed beverage preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards. Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, sharing knowledge and implementing improvements as appropriate. Qualifications: Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role withing a deli, restaurant, or food service environment. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, team members, and management. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and multitask in a fast-paced setting. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; additional culinary or management training is a plus. Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
