Job Description Senior Data Analyst Location: New York, United States Type: Full-time Department: Financial Markets Summary The successful candidate will be a Sr. Data Analyst, responsible for addressing requirements w.r.t data sourcing, data transformation, predictive modelling, data validation and reporting of the data for transaction monitoring and AML functions. Responsibilities Engage business stakeholder to understand the key data points required for the schema modelling Identification of the source database and data owners for various tools that capture data Liaise with Data owners to understand the data structure and source the required data in the right format Develop and implement data models and algorithms to detect suspicious activities and potential money laundering transactions. Conduct thorough analysis of transaction data to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate fraudulent activities. Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to ensure that AML processes are aligned with regulatory requirements. Design and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor transaction activities and AML compliance. Perform regular audits of transaction data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis and findings. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in transaction monitoring and AML to continuously improve processes. Perform impact analysis on any change in data or database due to migration or upgrade and ensure seamless feed to the downstream tools. Perform gap Analysis to identify availability of the required data and develop mechanisms to capture missing data. Follow-up with management on the approvals required to get the data Create the technical and review documents for approval Support on the deployment of the initiatives including manual scoring or implementation through any systems Prepare and/or contribute to regular updates for various committees and governance forums Provide insights to senior management and the network based on MIS and analytics Highlight any perceived risks and early alerts to the management based on data analytics Engage with business stakeholders across countries to gather requirement and liaise with ETL teams to get the required data preparation. Promote analytics driven decision making processes across multiple segments/product portfolios Eligibility Requirements A proven track record with 10 years or more of relevant analytics work experience and demonstrated career progression/increase in responsibilities Strong experience of working in investment banking and trade lifecycle domain Exposure to Transaction Monitoring and AML processes Strong academic record: Degree in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or related field Strong Knowledge of Alteryx and/or similar data management/date engineering tools Strong Understanding of the ETL process; Hands-on experience on any ETL tool - preferably Alteryx Strong understanding of SQL Databases; Proficient in SQL Familiarity with Python/R or any scripting language to implement/improvise business process automation Proficient in excel and Databases such as Oracle, Teradata Good Understanding of Data warehousing data modelling - ER, Dimensional etc., Experience with file formats like JSON, XML and CSV Accessing data from API's would be hugely beneficial Highly effective verbal and written English communication skills Good presentation, time management, negotiation and influencing skills Ability to influence without authority Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience in project management from business requirement definition, solution validation, user testing, technical documentation and production roll out Ability to manage multiple work streams with strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong communication and presentation skills to varying levels of management In the US, the target base salary for this role is $130K-$140K. Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. We expect the majority of candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
