Posting Details Posting Details Job Title 2025 Environmental Intern (Spring) Requisition Number DU12660 Department Name 81360:4-H CENTRAL OPERATIONS Work Location Lexington, KY Salary Range $1450 per month + housing Type of Position Temporary Position Time Status Full-Time Required Education High School/GED Required Related Experience At least 6 months experience with Extension, a University or related environmental education experience. Required License/Registration/Certification N/A Physical Requirements Applicant must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, be available to work long hours in a noisy environment, work in outside/hot/cold conditions, and be on feet for long periods of time. Shift Days and evenings Monday through Friday. Internship opportunities range in length during the time frame of March 2025 and May 2025. Job Summary Responsibilities include working with school age youth in the following areas: develop and teach hands-on environmental education classes, lead recreational games, campfires, singing, night hikes or other activities that convey the value if the natural environment. Interns will select an environmental project approved by their on-site supervisor and which is an area of interest to the student. They will conduct research and develop the project into a written plan. Internships available at JM Feltner 4-H Camp (London, Kentucky), West Kentucky 4- H Camp (Dawson Springs, Kentucky), Lake Cumberland 4-H Camp (Jabez, Kentucky), and North Central 4-H Camp (Carlisle, Kentucky). Skills / Knowledge / Abilities N/A Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience College work toward a degree in some aspect of Environmental education or related field.
