Title: Accountant Reports to: Controller Who we are: at PrognomIQ, we aim to transform healthcare by generating and using systems biology data to develop and commercialize tests for early detection and treatment of cancer and other complex diseases. PrognomIQ leverages leading proteomics technology, including the Proteograph product suite from Seer, as part of a multi-omics platform that provides an unprecedented molecular view of health and disease. We are a team of experienced and accomplished scientists supported by a group of leading investors in healthcare and technology. Summary: The Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Finance department by providing financial data, preparing reports, processing payroll and assisting with the accounts payable (AP) process. The accountant reports to the controller and will support controller to ensure efficient services are designed to meet the growing needs of the company. Responsibilities: Process bi-weekly payroll. Accuracy is the key. Must Understand the fundamentals of payroll including payroll taxes and R&D tax credits. Assist with new hire onboarding & offboarding. Manager 401K account. Oversee accounts payable process, collaborate with purchasing and procurement team to streamline the procure-to-pay process, ensuring that purchase orders, invoices and payments are properly aligned. Identify internal control weakness and improve processes. Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries and accruals, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded. Lead the annual external audit. Prepare monthly financial reports and contribute to the analysis Provide back-up support for controller and AP as needed. Handled other ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by the controller. Education and Experience: Bachelor degree in Accounting is required. Experience using NetSuite system is a big plus. Skill Requirements: must be detail oriented. Excellent communication is essential. Must be able to multi-task. Must be able to effectively work closely with staff and cross functions peers. Superior Excel skills are essential.
