AI Intern - Hybrid FON Advisors, a specialized financial advisory firm focused on the aerospace, defense, and government services (ADG) sectors, is seeking a highly motivated AI Intern. This unpaid, hybrid internship is open to graduate students from the Greater Washington DC area. In addition to our financial expertise, FON Advisors is deeply engaged in adapting and integrating dual-use technologies across the Department of Defense (DoD) and various government agencies. Our firm is pivotal in helping organizations leverage cutting-edge technologies with military and civilian applications, ensuring innovation is strategically aligned with the evolving needs of defense and government sectors. This provides interns with exposure to the dynamic intersection of private equity, technology and national security. Position Overview As an AI Intern at FON Advisors, you will play a crucial role in helping our firm leverage artificial intelligence tools to enhance efficiencies across our operations. You will work closely with our team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This position offers a blend of remote and in-office work, providing flexibility while maintaining collaborative opportunities with day-to-day mentorship from executive level professionals. Key Responsibilities Analyze current business and financial processes, and identify opportunities for AI implementation to improve efficiency and effectiveness Research and evaluate AI tools and technologies relevant to financial advisory services and the ADG sectors Assist in developing and implementing AI-driven marketing and web development solutions to include social media (LinkedIn, Industry publications, etc.) Assist in developing and implementing AI-driven solutions for market analysis, due diligence, and investment decision-making processes Collaborate with team members to integrate AI tools into existing workflows and systems Contribute to the development of AI-powered analytics for identifying promising lower middle market companies in the ADG sectors Support the creation of AI-enhanced reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders Assist in exploring AI applications for enhancing our ability to bridge commercial innovation with government needs Be prepared to take on other tasks as assigned, reflecting our dynamic operational tempo Qualifications Currently enrolled in a graduate business program at a Greater Washington DC area university Strong interest in artificial intelligence and its applications in finance and the ADG sectors Solid understanding of AI concepts, machine learning, and data analytics Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and collaboration abilities Adaptability and willingness to take on diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R is a plus Knowledge of or interest in aerospace, defense, and government services industries is preferred What You'll Gain Hands-on experience applying AI in a specialized financial advisory firm Exposure to the dynamic ADG sectors and dual-use technologies Opportunity to contribute to the growth of innovative companies addressing national security challenges Mentorship from experienced professionals in finance, defense, and industry Valuable insights into the intersection of commercial innovation and government needs Experience working in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and in-office work This internship is an excellent opportunity for ambitious graduate students looking to gain practical experience in applying AI to drive business efficiencies in a specialized financial advisory setting.
