This role will be based in Pennsauken, NJ . WHAT WE NEED Baldwin Richardson Foods (BRF) is seeking an experienced EH&S Manager to provide comprehensive environmental, health and safety leadership and support throughout our manufacturing facility. This includes building and maintaining a culture of safety, providing guidance to employees, implementing health and safety programs, and promoting continuous safety improvement. The EH&S Manager will provide guidance and support to site management, program owners, and site personnel to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements while developing and maintain a safety culture that will minimize the number and reduce the severity of accidents and injuries. They will drive employee engagement in conjunction with management, while maintaining efficiency and the well-being of employees. WHAT YOU WILL DO Act as the primary authority in all areas of occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance and plant security for the facility. Collecting and maintaining regulatory data and preparing environmental reports for external agencies. Participate as part of site leadership team to initiate, develop and maintain policies and procedures that address key safety issues and concerns, including PPE's, lockout/tag out, confined space, etc. Develop and maintain policies, procedures and resources for site security. This will also include periodic facility assessments addressing any safety and security gaps and participating in investigations when required. Assist with determining corrective behavior for potential safety problems by reviewing formal reports from supervisory and management personnel and collaborating to determine solutions and prevention of future accidents and incidents. Review work practices to make sure safety-related policies and procedures are being followed by employees and enforced by management. Notify supervisor and Site HR leadership of any policy or procedure violations, to determine corrective action and discipline. Develop and execute employee monthly safety and environmental training topics; support corporate safety directives. Ensure a proactive approach to accident prevention by training and advising management and employees on all safety issues. Effectively communicate safety related issues through management safety bulletins, safety newsletters, memos and meetings. Maintain expertise on current safety issues through ongoing literature and attendance at relevant seminars and meetings. Work jointly and collaboratively with operations to improve operational efficiencies and improve health and safety costs. Assist with follow up on work restrictions. Organize required training in all departments to increase EH&S awareness and adherence specific to local state regulations. Coordinate and oversee contractors, who support the site's EHS programs (i.e. fire extinguisher inspections, safety supply inventory, etc.) Ensure contractors are properly trained in the BRF's safety policies and procedures before they begin any on-site projects. Represent the EHS department during new-employee orientations and deliver original, basic environmental and safety training. Act as the site's safety committee leader and implement Corporate EHS initiatives throughout the site level of the organization. Ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with all existing federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies and procedures, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, USEPA, USDOT, and NFPA. WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental Health and Safety or Sustainability Disciplines such as environmental science, industrial safety, industrial hygiene. Five (5) years' EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. OSHA 30-hour Certification Experience with hazard/exposure identification, auditing, and inspections; Administration of EHS training program requirements; OSHA, and regulatory submissions; record keeping requirements and action-item projects is required. Demonstrated Technical Competencies - NIOSH, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, Confined Space, LOTO, II&PP, Chemical/Physical hazards, Pesticides, Contractor Rules, Agricultural Rules, Heat Stress. A solid, demonstrable working knowledge of OSHA and other Federal, State, and local regulatory compliance requirements. Experience in Manufacturing is required; Food Manufacturing is preferred. At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $110,000.00 and $120,000.00 annually . Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
