Product Owner Mc Lean, VA or Richmond, VA (Day 1 Onsite) Long Term Contract This Product Owner role is part of the Product team and primarily focuses on delivering a product vision alongside product managers and an engineering team. You will partner with a senior Product Manager to understand customer requirements, set priorities, ensure that requirements are translated into workable epics and stories. You will represent the customer's needs while addressing engineering team questions on epics and stories. You are the go-to person for engineering when they have questions on requirements, schedules and deliverables. You are the expert on your backlog with a clear understanding of how every epic and story delivers against customer requirements. You will partner with an engineering team to set priorities for development. You will assist engineering as needed to demo working features to internal stakeholders. Every day you seek to better understand how engineering delivers on product requirements. It's key that you'll be able to discuss software development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, code review processes,. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Collaborating with the internal teams and peers to determine the needs of the business and execute on technical product management projects, providing support and guidance to their team. Making recommendations and take action to ensure the organization meets the metrics set-forth by leadership including administrative, auditory, and KPIs. Creating project/product plans and roadmaps for product releases and enhancements. Leading the development of solutions to ensure timelines and obligations are met. Recommending and administering revisions or alternative solutions for product/process design, methods of procedure, or other project decisions. Managing project budgets, identifying possible risks and opportunities. Interacting with the various teams involved in the project, leading regular meetings and ensuring participants have the necessary resources to complete their tasks. Understanding the technical aspects and desired business outcomes of the project to anticipate issues while driving results. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant work experience. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Even better if you have: Ability to research and evaluate leading-edge technologies to inform and influence product build. Experience of leading SDK and API development. Experience working with front and back end engineering teams and technologies delivering code for production applications. Proven ability to write code at a basic level in at least one major programming language like Java, Javascript, C++, or Python. Experience with UAT, unit, regression, performance, UX and reliability test approaches. Experience with UI/UX design principles.
