QA Manager The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the overall planning and execution of all quality assurance and control related activities to ensure an effective, efficient, and compliant Quality Program in support of Mills Marine & Ship Repair LLC. RESPONSIBILITES /DUTIES: The Quality Manager is authorized to delay production or delivery of products or services when said items do not meet fabrication, drawing, test, or inspection requirements. The Quality Manager reports directly to the Operations Director. He is responsible to: Manage and maintain the Mills Marine LLC. QMS, Provide technical expertise in support of Program Managers to manage and maintain contract specific quality initiatives and processes, Define and implement a document control system, Manage and implement the Internal Audit, Corrective and Preventive Action Programs, Provide quality training to personnel required to certify in specific disciplines to support testing and inspection, Interact with sub-contractors in the integration of quality systems and processes, Act as the CHQ ISO Management Representative. Ensure that processes needed for the success of the QMS are established and implemented, Report to Senior Leadership on the performance of the QMS and recommend improvements when needed, Promote awareness of customer quality requirements to Line Managers. Determine appropriate means for assessing the quality of the organization's performance, at division, department, and company levels. Provide quality support as directed by top management, Facilitate periodic reviews of the suitability and effectiveness of the QMS. Coordinate improvements to the QMS. Train and certify quality inspectors and quality supervisors, Provide a vigorous and well-rounded quality training program for obtaining quality certification of technical personnel. program for obtaining quality certification of technical personnel. Ensure the integrity of the QMS, and attend quality working groups, training sessions and quality organization meetings for Mills Marine LLC. is a member to enhance QMS and level of understanding of the industry. QA/ISO Internal and External Training, Auditing, Certifying and QA Authority for ISO 9001:2015 compliance, Welding and NDT program, NDT Inspectors, and QMS Procedures. Ensures Customer Complaints (CARs), Non-conformances (NCRs), Supplier CARs, and Audit Findings are addressed with proper root cause analysis, tracked, performed, and reported to management and the customer as required. Assists where needed to evaluate contract QA requirements. Performs analysis of data relating to conformity of product, quality policy, quality objectives, customer satisfaction, suppliers, trends of processes and products. Provides coaching and developmental opportunities to direct reports for assistance in growing the department. Acts as liaison to trade organizations such as the American Maritime Modernization Association (AMMA), Virginia Ship Repair Association, AAMP, and the American Society for Quality (ASQ), or other industry organizations who directly affect L3Harris Maritime Services standing within our industry. Track & analyze KPI metrics. Performs other duties as assigned. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in the development of technical documents. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Decision Sciences, Management, or related field with 9 years' experience in the management of Quality Assurance Programs in the military, shipyard or ship repair environment is highly preferred, or Graduate Degree with 7 years' experience in the management of Quality Assurance Programs in the military, shipyard, or ship repair environment. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Standard, NAVSEA Standard Items, and Regional Maintenance Center Quality Assurance standards and requirements. Experience in the use of Lean, Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control tools and processes is a plus. Additional training may be provided. Must have experience researching, writing, and implementing Quality Assurance policies, programs, and operating procedures. 1+ years' experience with the use of the Microsoft Office Software Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook). Must have the ability to obtain a government security clearance and contractor's badge.
