Professional Liability Underwriting Intern

Job Description The Professional Liability Intern will work with underwriters using both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to understand and assess risk profiles and determine appropriate price, terms and conditions of a policy. Other job function expectations include: ensuring appropriate file documentation and compliance; assisting direct manager with various departmental projects as necessary. Responsibilities Focus on professional liability clients in the large corporate sector including Law Firms, Accountants, Construction Professionals, Consultants, and other Miscellanous classes. Analyze underwriting submissions for new and renewal accounts. Assess various risk exposures, review policy wordings, determine price adequacy, and produce underwriting reports. Assist group in performing tasks designed to gain an understanding of the Professional Liability marketplace Work with underwriting staff to analyze and improve broker relationships Analyze notable trends and macro factors to help determine optimal portfolio breakdown Research and present a final project to the Professional Liability staff Qualifications Required experience & competencies Self-starter, highly motivated candidate with a strong analytical aptitude.
