Accountant

21st August, 2024 Accountant # Job Description: To provide transaction processing, reporting and analytical support for general accounting and other management functions. Prepares a variety of analytical reports for management. Prepares account reconciliations and journal entries. Performs other general accounting functions as required in compliance with SOX and GAAP. Major responsibilities: Perform various analysis for accounts that involve complex accounting and maintain proper accounting for those accounts under USGAAP/IFRS Prepares complex account reconciliations and apply critical thinking to assess validity of the balances. Processes and maintains assigned ad hoc or recurring journal entries such as payroll, accrued expenses, etc. in a timely and accurate manner Assists with monthly/quarterly/yearly closing activities Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls. Works with external audit firm to support timely completion of audits or compliance reporting Education/Experience Requirements 8 years accounting experience with general accounting experience. Experience with larger companies with employees more than 1,000 employees preferred Knowledge/Skill Requirements Analytical mind set and able to recognize areas of need and react pro-actively to resolve issues. Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables), Word, and using database software. Oracle proficiency preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, while being adaptable to frequent changes in priorities. Ability to work as a team player. Possess a high degree of problem-solving skills and a high level of concentration and attention to detail. Possess a positive attitude and enjoy interacting with others at all levels. Uses professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of moderate to diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
