The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and professional duties supporting the EHS department's continuous improvement initiatives. Supports the overall objectives of the department strategic business plan, including assisting with regulatory compliance, updating policies and procedures, revising EHS training content, and assisting with various aspects of the Global EHS software platform. Collaborates with others to help address concerns and foster a sustainable culture of safety across Greenheck Group. What you'll be doing: Support development and sustainable delivery methods for EHS training materials and continuous improvement of the EHS portion for new hire onboarding process. Assists the EHS team Risk Analyst with collaborating on continuous improvement support for EHS Software Solution integrations, training, and future module development. Keeps informed of relevant safety & environmental law or regulation changes. Participates in meetings to discuss workplace safety & regulatory concerns as well as from time-to-time assist informing plant managers & supervisors of opportunities to help influence safe behaviors. Collaborates with team members regarding loss drivers and assists with supporting functions targeting controlling and containing BU associated costs. Supports safety team efforts by effectively collaborating with regional EHS Manager by engaging shop team members to focus on leading indicator measures for reducing risk. With minimal oversight, functions day-to-day as the EHS single point of contact for Greenheck Group team members, contractors, and vendors at several facilities within a select region. Help investigate incidents and ensure CAPA's are completed to minimize future exposures and proper records/documents are maintained. May assist with confidential matters pertaining to air, water, waste, other environmental data collection and sustainability needs. Helps with regulatory agency matters related to OSHA, etc.. and assists with revisions of Greenheck Group EHS policies, procedures, and practices as requested. At the direction of an EHS Manager, supports plant managers and leadership to ensure required facility inspections comply with Environmental regulations. Functions as a back-up with local, state, and Federal agencies while understands when compliance matters need escalated by appropriately engaging involved parties at the right time. May help manage administrative functions of onsite hazardous waste inspections, inventory, disposal, and recordkeeping. What you should have: 2 Year / Associate Degree in EH&S, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Business or related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required. 4 Year / Bachelor Degree in EH&S, Risk Management, Occupational Health, Business or related field of study preferred. 4-6 years of work experience in manufacturing environment or similar, with exposure to Safety, Health and regulatory agency matters required. Advanced computer skills in typing, Outlook Email, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various Cloud-based applications required. High degree of professionalism and integrity while handling matters of confidentiality related to varying insurance program matters, laws, regulations, finances, and private health information in relation to HIPAA, OSHA, etc. required Valid driver's license and safe driving record required. OHST, ARM, RN or CSP license/designation/certification preferred.
