Tooling Engineer Lead Location: Winchester, KY Hiring Process: Direct Hire Job Overview: Raizan Solutions LLC is hiring a Tooling Engineer Lead for our client, a leader in the plastics manufacturing industry. This is a direct hire position offering excellent compensation and benefits. We are seeking an experienced engineer with a solid background in mold design, injection molding, and plastic forming technologies to lead mold development, procurement, and validation projects that push the boundaries of innovation and quality. Key Responsibilities: Tooling Strategy & Project Management: Develop and execute tooling strategies to meet production goals; manage new tool construction projects from concept to completion. Tooling Design & Implementation: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient tooling design and oversee the tooling repair department for optimal performance. Continuous Improvement & Quality Control: Monitor tooling performance, identify areas for improvement, and work closely with suppliers to ensure exceptional quality and reliability. Process Enhancement: Research and apply advanced technologies for mold repair, maintenance, and construction of new and existing molds. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering to align product and tooling designs for enhanced mold effectiveness. Must-Have Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. 15+ years of experience in the injection molding industry with an emphasis on tool design. 10+ years in a supervisory or management role in tooling or mold engineering. Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Hands-on experience in mold design and construction and familiarity with 3D modeling software . Proficient in Moldflow analysis interpretation , cold runner and hot runner manifold systems, and various mold materials and metals. Extensive knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, including injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming , and various polymers. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint . Willingness to travel weekly as needed.
