Weld Engineer

The given role is onsite in the manufacturing facility and works with other engineers, production maintenance and production process. Learn more about Weld Engineer primary responsibilities: • Develop, implement and maintain welding processes in accordance with AWS D17.2 standards to ensure product quality and safety. • Oversee NADCAP accreditation processes, including preparation and submission of documentation, audits, and corrective actions. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot welding-related issues and develop solutions that improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency. • Conduct training sessions and mentorship programs for junior engineers and welding technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. • Perform inspections and audits of welding procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. • Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing welding techniques, reducing costs, and increasing productivity. • Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in welding engineering. • Support lean and robotic welding cells • Own weld-related communications to suppliers and customers. • Ensures safe welding practices and procedures are always implemented in use. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in welding engineering, mechanical engineering or related field is required. • Experience with AWS D17.2 is required. • 5+ years in manufacturing environment in the welding arena • NADCAP experience is preferred. • Proven experience using Microsoft applications, SolidWorks and other engineering applications is a necessity • Solid communication skills and strong desire to grow technical excellence.
