BSI Corporate Benefits has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Underwriter. As a Senior Underwriter, you will identify, review, evaluate, and price risk for clients and prospect's healthcare. This position requires critical thinking and strategic communication ability to ensure our team and our clients understand what their data truly means. This is a hybrid position allowing flexibility for a combination of in-office and at-home work. Come be a part of the BSI success story! What will you do in this role? This position is responsible for providing support and direction to account teams on short and long-term planning and overall consulting strategy and approach. Some job responsibilities include: Reviews, collects, and analyzes client specific information including financial condition, employee demographics and previous claim experience to determine risk, potential benefit features and premium equivalent rates for self-funded groups. Assists with review of client specific underwriting and renewal negotiations on fully-insured and self-insured groups. Performs fully insured to self-funded analyses. Assists as necessary in the negotiation of benefit plan designs and financial assumptions with client service team on new and renewal business. Assists client teams with financial strategies and long range financial projections. Assists in developing client contribution strategies. Conducts plan design modeling using carrier provided or actuarial developed increments or decrements. Assists with review of Stop Loss marketing and appropriate designs. Assists with review of Pharmacy carve out and design. Qualified Candidates Should Possess: 3-5 years of related underwriting and benefits experience Experience servicing employee benefits accounts (Medical, Rx, Dental, STD, LTD, Vision, HSA, FSA) Experience working with mid-size to large groups ranging from 50-5000 Working knowledge of underwriting and actuarial principles and procedures. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with brokerage or insurance carrier underwriting or account management experience. Demonstrated oral and written communications skills Proven math aptitude Demonstrated computer proficiency Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point. Insurance licenses (Life, Accidental & Health) required or obtain within 6 months of hire What We Offer You!
