General Summary GTI Energy's process engineering group serves three general functions: Evaluating and developing conceptual chemical processes through process and economic modeling, developing new processes through laboratory research, and providing process design documentation to our clients. Our research team will need an intern in the summer of 2025 to assist with evaluating several low carbon intensity and renewable fuels development and/or carbon capture processes. The qualified candidate will interact with a team of professionals evaluating low carbon impact technologies including natural gas, biomass, and CO2 upgrading and conversion processes. Primary Responsibilities Setup and run lab and bench scale gas conversion process under supervision Assist in catalyst synthesis Perform leak checks and general troubleshooting Use gas chromatography to evaluate product composition Calculate conversion and yield Assist in report reviews Process modelling in Aspen Drafting or reviewing drawings in AutoCAD and Visio such as piping and instrument diagrams. Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Laboratory skills Excellent oral and written communication Ability to follow direction and all safety protocols Ability to work independently Education and Experience Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering Completion of at least one analytical chemistry course at the undergraduate level Completion of at least one chemistry lab course at the undergraduate level Pay Transparency The salary range for this position is $17 - $28 USD hourly. This salary range is GTI Energy's good faith estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, GTI Energy's business or organizational needs and an individual's relevant experience, education, qualifications, certifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, and/or performance. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus.
