About the role At Rippling, Engineering is at the heart of our business and culture. As a Software Engineer on the Global Payroll team, you will play a critical role in advancing our full-service payroll platform that handles payroll processing and payments for hundreds of thousands of employees. This is a great opportunity to shape the technology powering one of Rippling's core product offerings. You will own and drive initiatives by creating new product functionality from the ground up as well as rearchitecting key components of our platform to help us scale. What you will do Take ownership of projects, guiding them from initial product requirements through to launch, benefiting all Payroll customers Maintain a relentless commitment to elevating engineering standards within the team Develop extensible and scalable solutions that expands our product offerings Provide mentorship to junior engineers, nurturing their professional growth and success Identify inefficiencies within the team and drive process and system enhancements What you will need 3+ years of professional work experience, ideally with Python, Go, Django, MongoDB, Postgres, AWS Experience supporting projects with considered abstractions and architecture Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, providing you with a solid foundation to tackle complex technical problems and drive innovation Proficiency in managing the complete project lifecycle, transforming intricate ideas into successful launches Demonstrate a keen product sense that advocates for delivering exceptional customer experiences About the team Payroll processing is a core platform team that handles all payments, banking, accounting and reporting related business logic in Global payroll. This includes making sure the right amount is paid to each employee at the right time. Our team also manages core payment adjustment infra like rollovers and credits. Supporting different payment methods like bank transfer, bank file, skipping payments etc. We are also responsible for making payroll & payments data available to employees and admins via pay stub, accounting integration, payroll journals, debit summary etc. We provide an unique opportunity to highly motivated individuals to work and ship impactful, user facing and challenging projects e2e. The salary for US-based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges below based on location; see which tier applies to your location here.
